Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is the highest ranked hospitality and tourism program in the southeast United States and one of the top six in the nation as reported by the latest study published in the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education.
The School offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Hospitality Management as well as Travel and Tourism Management. It also offers Master of Science degrees in Hospitality Management (available on campus and via distance learning) and Tourism Studies. In addition, The School offers an Executive Master of Science in Hospitality Management Degree (available via distance learning), as well as Certificate Programs in various Hotel, Restaurant, Hospitality, Travel and Tourism specializations.
The School’s building on FIU’s beautiful Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami includes state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for product and service development, research and testing facilities and food management instruction. The 45,000 square-foot building houses the School’s administration and faculty, Hilton Training Kitchen, the practicum dining room, Angostura Culinary Lecture/Demonstration Classroom, Statler Foundation Distance Learning Classroom, Herbert S. Joseph Lecture Hall, Jay W. Weiss Wine & Spirit Laboratory, Marriott Executive Seminar E-Studio, Sheraton Auditorium, and the Carnival Resorts Conference Room. The School is also home to the state-of-the-art Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center, a 4,500 square-foot facility that features the latest technology for beverage tasting and analysis. The building includes advanced communications technology and infrastructure for digital media and digital presentations.
| On September 15, 2006, the Florida International University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Tianjin, China was officially dedicated. The first joint hospitality management program between the Chinese government and an American institution, the program opened with an enrollment of more than 450 students. Fully funded by the Chinese government, the center, valued at $100 million if built in the U.S., sits on 80 acres of land and contains more than 450,000 square feet of air- conditioned space. The center has total capacity for 2,000 students. |
